Ministry of Education, Ghana

The Ministry of Education (MoE) Ghana was established to formulate and coordinate education policies, set standards, and monitor and evaluate their implementation. It works to ensure quality education is accessible for all Ghanaians, in support of human capital and national development.

To improve the policy environment for the affordable non-state sector (ANS), ensuring its recognition as a critical component of the pre-tertiary education system, and inclusion in all Government support programs and initiatives, IDP Foundation’s (IDPF) partnership with the MoE focuses on maintaining support for IDPF’s work with low-fee private schools. IDPF has a formalized partnership relationship with the MoE, with representation on the MoE’s Sector Working Group. IDPF has funded technical assistance to the MoE through Education Partnership Group, for the design and pilot of a public-private partnership (PPP) model, the Accountability for Learning Framework, and support for agencies such as the National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA) for the development of the school licensing policy.
