This partnership is focused on improving teaching and learning in Ghana’s public schools, through supporting the training and onward professional development of teachers. The partnership hinges on equipping pre-service teacher trainees with knowledge and skills in child-centered pedagogy, social emotional development, and interactive and exploratory learning approaches, delivered through IDP Foundation’s Techniques For Effective Teaching (TFET) curriculum, developed by Sesame and certified by GTEC in 2021.

In 2021, college professors from the Colleges of Education were trained by Sesame Workshop on TFET resources – enabling them to train future public school teachers on play-based, child-centered pedagogy and activity-based learning.

Since 2021, TFET content has been delivered to 52 Master Trainers, 1,992 tutors and 45,000 Pre-Service Teacher Trainees across Ghana’s Colleges of Education.
