Peter has worked with the IDP Foundation in an advisory role since 2016, helping the Foundation to raise awareness of the contributions of the affordable non-state (ANS) sector to global education goals, and to help shape the global education policy environment accordingly.

Peter has a Doctorate of Education and has lived and worked as an education specialist in Africa, Asia and the Balkans. Peter works as a consultant in global Education, Health and Human Development, with a range of clients and across a range of functions, but principally strategy. Prior to working as a consultant, Peter was Executive Director in the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) – the world’s largest children-focussed Foundation. Prior to that, Head of Education in the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and three years Head of the Human Development Department in DFID’s Policy Division, managing a department of 45 staff with a direct programme budget of over $1bn over 4 years and policy leadership of over $3bn of annual DFID investments in Education, Health and Nutrition. Peter has sat on a number of Boards, including three terms as a Board member of the Global Partnership for Education.

Peter has degrees from Oxford University, the London School of Economics & Political Science, and Sussex University. He is based in Lewes in the UK.
