Ashesi University Foundation

Ashesi is a private, non-profit university located in Accra, Ghana. Its mission is to educate ethical, entrepreneurial leaders in Africa, to cultivate within students critical thinking skills, concern for others, and the courage to transform the continent.

In 2013, IDP Foundation (IDPF) provided a general grant to support Ashesi’s Engineering Program. Then in 2017, IDPF sponsored 5 IDP Rising School Program students to attend the Ashesi Innovation Experience (AIX) – an intense, exciting two-week program developed by the faculty at Ashesi for Senior High School students. AIX expands the vision and aims of students, challenges them and equips them with skills such as leadership, design thinking, entrepreneurship, robotics programming and engineering, to encourage their innovation skills and problem-solving abilities.

In 2022, the IDPF provided support to the Patrick Awuah, Jr. Presidential Leadership Fund at Ashesi University, contributing a flexible pool of funds to nurture exploration and creativity as they usher Ashesi into a new decade, and a new strategic plan.[CG22]
