On April 8, 2017, the IDP Foundation’s Executive Director Allison Rohner and Project Manager Jenna O’Brien traveled to Harvard University to sign a two-year partnership agreement with the Harambe Entrepreneurs Alliance (HEA).
On Wednesday, April 19 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, The Irene D. Pritzker/IDP Foundation Distinguished Lecture on Social and Economic Development, co-hosted by Foreign Policy Association in the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Chamber, featured the Right Honorable Gordon Brown, former United Kingdom Prime Minister and UN Special Envoy for Global Education.
Recently, IDP Foundation had the opportunity to attend the International Education Funders Group (IEFG) Spring Meeting in New Delhi, India, a week-long meeting that allows a network of foundations and donor-advised funders to come together and discuss how to best support education in the Global South.
The IDP Rising Schools Program has proven that through carefully tailored loan products accompanied by specialized training in financial literacy and school management, very poor private schools in Ghana are bankable. Now, the IDP Foundation, Inc. has turned its attention to improve the quality of teaching in these low-cost private schools, whose teachers are largely untrained and have little access to professional development opportunities.
